RNDM ASSOCIATES

Wherever we are, we are charged with keeping the RNDM flame burning brightly for the world that God so loves. (Chapter Document, I am doing something new) R.N.D.M.S’ are Religious missionary women known as the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions. These initials are derived from the original name in French ‘Religieuses de Notre Dame des Missions.
Euphrasie Barbier

The Congregation of Our Lady of the Missions was founded in Lyon, France in 1861. By naming her Congregation the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, Euphrasie wished to
It was from here that many sisters set forth to ‘proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God.’ Within three years after its founding the first little band of missionaries were sent to the distant shores of New Zealand. Since then there have been many ‘sendings’ and today the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions are to be found in twenty-two countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Canada, England, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Laos, Myanmar, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Scotland, Senegal, South Sudan, Taiwan, Wales, Western Samoa, Vietnam) where they strive in openness and love to meet the needs of the people to whom they are sent.
Who are the RNDM Associates?

The Trinity itself is the source of all missionary activity (Euphrasie Barbier)
RNDM Associates are men and women of Christian faith who wish to formally associate themselves with the congregation, its mission and spirituality. They are believers who take seriously their baptismal commitment, who wish to grow in their faith and who join the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, living the charism and spirituality of the Congregation.
They may already be our co-workers, alumna/us from our schools, relatives, former sisters, or those who came in contact with us and are attracted to our mission and life. Associates may work on various committees and projects, learning and worshipping with the sisters.
The movement is “mutually enriching” for both, linking themselves intentionally, sometimes quite formally, to the congregation and to our spirituality, charism, ministries and missions.
What do the Associates do?
Associates commit themselves to prayer, spiritual growth, and ongoing formation.
– share in our charism of participating in the Divine Missions through Contemplation, Communion and Mission.
– offer their talents with other associates and sisters in Mission and Service, believing in the dignity and giftedness of all people.
– share in the call to holiness, each with a unique expression of their call, valuing different perspectives and life experiences.
– network and collaborate with others to advocate for a society of justice, peace and care for creation.
Prayers of the Associates
MORNING PRAYER
: help me to waste none of it. This day is full of mystery and of the unknown
: help me to face it without fear of anxiety. This day is full of beauty and adventure
: help me to be fully alive to it all. During this day may I become – a more thoughtful person, – more prayerful person, – a more generous and kind person. Help me not to be sensitive to the needs of others and be helpful to them. Let me do nothing today that will hurt anyone; but let me help, at least a little, to make life more pleasant and make a difference for those I meet.
When night comes, may I look back on this day without regrets and may nobody be unhappy because of anything I have done or anything I have failed to do. Lord, bless this day for all of us. May those whom you have chosen to serve as Associates of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, provide by their way of life a convincing sign of your kingdom for the Church and the whole world, Amen.
NIGHT PRAYER
Lord, forgive me for all the wrong I have done this day – for the pain and hurt I have caused, for the people I ignored or rejected, for the deserving praise or appreciation I have not expressed, for the help or assistance I have not offered to the needy.
For any regrets I might have about today: help me to forgive myself as you forgive me.
Bind us together in unity and peace. Bless our home, protect our family. Give us strength to care for each other in our family and community. Inspire us with a deep respect for every person. May no anger, resentment or spitefulness take hold of us.
Lord, bless our sick, our lonely, our neighbours and friends and grant eternal happiness to our dead. Bless those who love and those I find it hard to forgive.
Lord make me an instrument of your peace, and to know the shortness of my life that I may gain wisdom of heart, Amen.
PRAYER TO THE HOLY TRINITY
Glory to you, Father, who through the power of your love created the world and made us in your own image. Glory to you Jesus, only begotten Son, who in your wisdom took on our human condition to lead us to the Kingdom. Glory to you Holy Spirit, who in your mercy sanctified us in Baptism and, by your grace, work to create us anew each day. Glory to you, Holy Trinity, who are, who were and who always will be eternally great to the end of ages. (Adapted from the first Manual of Prayers used by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions – Lyon 1872)
Formula of Commitment
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Almighty God, you have called me by my name ………………………………… to serve you as an associate of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions.
